Irish Livery Trek

This Trek Madone had seen a bit of a battering. The customer wasn’t looking for flamboyance but just that clean, fresh “new bike” feeling.

Starting with full chemical finish removal, this one was given a thorough key, prepped and finished all over with a clean and unfussy gun metal grey. Next a full clear coat applied over that metallic adding up to greater UV protection and scratch resistance in the long run. The old, tarnished glue-on Trek head badge was recycled in favour of a painted emblem instead. Down tube graphics in the same flat off-white from the badge give us a light interactivity dynamic in the difference between the main hues. The whole thing is given a little bit of the owner’s style and flavour through the inclusion of an airbrushed tricolour stripe set on the top tube; this represents the owner’s beloved homeland but avoids the cliché of an eBay ‘faux-pro’ flag and surname sticker! As ever, a final gloss clear and polish to bring a well-loved bike back to life. Thanks to Look Mum No Hands! for sending this one our way.
